A Violent Anthology

Our way of life didn’t end with a bang. There was no pandemic, no foreign invasion, no EMP, and no natural disaster. Our way of life was rotting away in front of our eyes for decades before the violent collapse, but it was an inconvenient truth that no one wanted to address and only a few dared to speak of in private with close friends. It wasn’t discussed in the news, nor was it debated in the capital. It was ignored for as long as it could be until it couldn’t be ignored anymore.

Society’s free fall has begun. The people at the top were scrambling for power and to control the descent. Those at the bottom were dying. Or, they were looking to their masters to solve their problems abandoning their God given rights and liberties for a loaf of bread and the promise of safety. Then there were the obstinate, the uncontrollable, the refractory that were fighting back. These were the ones that everyone at the top has been trying to control.

The Parkers are separated once again by forces out of their control. The bloated behemoth of the federal government is taking its last dying breaths, but it is fighting to stay alive.

Feral: Having escaped from domestication and become wild. Our nation which was once domesticated, is no more. The free fall from civilized society has come to the conclusion of a failed state. The refractory few left are the hardened survivors that would not yield or bend to the will of the foreign forces that wish to see our nation and its people on their knees. The Parkers and their tribe, however, continue to resist the Global Alliance for Governance and refuse to bend to the will of their would-be masters. This obstinance comes at a cost.

The American Dream is dead, well, the propagandized American Dream of a white picket fence, a job with a pension, and 2.7 kids. The original American Dream, the one the founders had envisioned of liberty, independence, and personal responsibility is being rebirthed in a bloody and savage fashion.
