Vanessa and Bryan are twins, both awkward and rather misfits, as she had a bad back, and he is in the spectrum. Yet, they try to live normal lives. When their father goes missing, they find out that there is a great deal they don't know about him, his job, and the mystical world he works in. They also find there is nothing normal about either one of them.

Power hungry men will stop at nothing to get the power that the twins have. Vanessa and Bryan find that they are not safe in either world. In their world, Director Mahon still wants to use them to get through the arch, and in Elliad, Evander and Fardoragh want them too. When the stakes rise and the situation goes to war, many lives, and the future of the kingdom, rests on Bryan and his magic, which he is still learning to use.

Power comes in many forms, some of which are easily corrupted. Men who will pay any price for power are deadly, as their ends justify any means to them. With the magic of the arch breached from both sides, Bryan must learn to rewrite the very rules of magic or both worlds could be overthrown and destroyed.
