After settling in as the new owners, tragedy strikes. A body is found in one of the buildings. The ranch manager - a holdover - pressures them not to immediately report it. Meanwhile, rumors swirl that the Supreme Court Justice who died of natural causes at the ranch before they bought it might actually be an unsolved murder.

Vance Courage and Lauren Gold are on route to Paradise Island, Bahamas to gamble when the twin-engine prop plane they’ve chartered is forced to make an emergency landing on a tiny private island. The pilot, a crusty army veteran named Blade, makes a harrowing landing, then ordering his five passengers to take their baggage and walk to the island’s only resort to wait for the weather to clear. While Vance is away from the table, Lauren sees the plane take off into the sunset, stranding them and two of the three other passengers.

Vance Courage has sworn off life as a lawyer and is living comfortably off the millions of dirty dollars he helped salvage and keeps hidden in an offshore account. Out of the blue, he gets an offer to invest in a dive outfit in the Cayman Islands and the plan is simple—buy more boats and book lots of fake trips.
