Born, Darkly by Trisha Wolfe is a masterclass in psychological tension, moral ambiguity, and deliberate discomfort—and I loved every second of it.

This book immediately gave me Hannibal/Clarice energy: intelligent, predatory, seductive, and deeply unsettling in the best way. I was hooked from the start, and I loved Grayson instantly—which should probably concern me, but here we are.

Grayson is an exceptional psycho. He’s darkly seductive, calculating, and intentionally written as morally dark gray—never softened, never excused. He feels less like a romance hero and more like a beautifully controlled experiment in obsession and power. At times, he gave me full hot Jigsaw vibes, and honestly? I was seated.

The relationship is pure psychological chess. This isn’t about comfort or safety—it’s about control, intellect, and mirrored darkness. There were moments that made me deeply uncomfortable (yes, that scene), but once the full context was revealed, everything snapped into place. The discomfort was intentional, earned, and necessary to understand the truth of both characters.

The reveal surrounding the FMC’s past genuinely shocked me—not in a cheap way, but in a way that recontextualized the entire story. Suddenly, earlier moments clicked. Her survivor guilt made sense. Her power made sense. Everything made sense. That twist is where this book went from “darkly compelling” to brilliant.

The audiobook deserves its own standing ovation.
Jacob Morgan with a slight Irish accent while being completely unhinged? Yeah. That altered my brain chemistry. And Samantha Brentmoor is an absolute goddess—controlled, emotional, and perfectly matched to the material. The narration didn’t just elevate the story; it became essential to the experience.

This is not a book for readers seeking a traditional HEA or even a comfortable HFN. This is for dark romance readers who want psychological depth, intentional power imbalance, and a story that trusts the reader to sit with discomfort.

Five stars. No hesitation.
And yes—I’m diving straight into book two.

Hot Jigsaw voiced by Jacob Morgan 🥵🥵

Just finished the Darkly, Madly duet. I devoured this audiobook duet in two days. Could not put it down. So good. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if not more. So captivating, not knowing who was playing who. Cat and mouse, but you are never quite sure which is which until close to the end. Loved it.

It is defifintly a DARK romance. Check your triggers. The narration is duet, and truly one of the most delicious 🔥🫦🔥🫦🔥🫦 back and forth chemistry between the characters I've heard. Lots of phycological sparring and 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶.

This audiobook series released recently, October 2025 I read. And my goodness it is so good. Highly recommended must for Dark-Rom girlies. Probably not for lighter readers. Do Check your triggers.

Wow. Loved this Duet.
