such a cute story set in the winter to keep your heart nice and warm. i loved the taboo romance that keeps you smiling. loved it. my only issue was the whistle in the narrators voice. made it a little hard to listen to for that reason but i was able to get past it for the story!

I asked to receive this free review Audible book and wrote this unbiased review. When I first started listening to chapter 1, I thought that this book wasn't going to have much character development but I was wrong. Victor and Caroline have been attracted to each other for 2 years, but they never pursued their relationship because she was his teacher. Both are in their early thirties and he is still in the university but no longer a student of hers. I love how we watch their relationship grow and the pitfalls they face. Once again we see how family doesn't have to be blood related. We also see the worst human beings. This is a heartwarming and inspiring romance. I enjoyed the narrator' s portrayal of the story. I thought she did a good job with the male voices. She also conveyed the multitude of emotions that the characters experienced so the listener could feel them. I recommend this Audible book.

This is the first first story in this series I have heard/read. I found that didn't matter apart from interest about side characters. Caroline, NOT Carrie, is such a strong minded person it is hard to imagine she stayed with William so long. The affair with Victor happened so fast and with little background. Their love is hard to believe. From there the story and writing get better and better.

I liked the bits of unconventional mixed in with the traditional. The personalities were well defined and the epilogue appreciated.

Holly Holt did a good job narrating, at the beginning I found her pacing a bit off putting as it was so rhythmic but as the story progressed that to seemed more natural and blended with the story. Her voice is well suited for this type of work.

This book was definitely not for me! The narrator was good.
I just can’t imagine a student walking into a teachers office and having a conversation like this.
I prefer a little more character development.
I was given a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
