God has led me to a life of service. I never thought being a priest would be a career path for me, but here I am giving Mass and leading a flock toward salvation. My way is clear until a red-headed distraction begins to visit my services. Eyes wide and giving off innocence like a burst of effervescence, Lily is a temptation that I must overcome. But the more trust she gives me, the more confessions she reveals, I soon realize that the Lord brought her to me. I’m the only one who can ease the deep ache inside her and lead her into the light.
When I see Father Niall standing on the steps of his church, his open smile and welcoming arms are just what I need. Even though I’m not a Catholic, I attend his services and soak in the sound of his voice, the warmth in his eyes. I don’t think he notices me. Until one day, he does. And then I confess to him about the ache I feel every time I see him. Father Niall is merciful and helps me in every way I ask. But when he learns who I really am, his own dangerous past comes to light. Father Niall isn’t what he seems…but then again, neither am I.

This was my first story by this author, and my experience was okay.
It wasn't clear whether Lily was a senior in high school or a freshman in college, but she was 18. And her crush, who she pursued and the one who quickly crossed the line was Father Niall. He was 28 and essentially a vigilante priest. You learn how he got there if you listen to the story.
This story takes misinterpretation of scripture to a new level, but that's something that occurs daily and has throughout history to devastating effects. And doing it to serve self is par for the course, though this book includes a very skewed version. I thought of it as a different version of age-play erotica tales. This is a form of priest age-play, if you will. Additionally, I enjoyed the bit of a mystery in the story. IMO the HEA seemed believable.
May be hard to enjoy. Intense.

Once Father Niall's backstory is revealed, everything is ok. I had a feeling it was going to be something like that when he was explaining a penance to one of the parishioners. Lily was sure that she was in love with Niall and she made sure that she told him. I liked how protective Niall was of Lily. Lily's true identity was a definite twist that I didn't see coming. Lily and Niall's happy ever after was great. I recommend reading this book. Or listening to it since that is awesome too! The narrators do a great job!
