I enjoy the author’s work. Unfortunately, this book left me disappointed. This troupe/storyline has been done many times before and better. There are glaring plot holes that make it difficult for the reader/listener to overcome. The biggest being the lead characters relationship. How can you have a love story without any acts of love or romance between the two leads? The supporting characters don’t truly help to push the story forward. They only set up for the next book. It’s unfortunate. I think this is more of a first draft than a book ready for public consumption. I’m so sorry. I hope others can fully enjoy it. However, it missed the mark for me.
