Russian mobster spanks his rent boy. Ouch!

Rent Boy Brennen wants to belong to his lover Dmitri Dubrovsky. The Russian mobster controls every inch of his life in and out of bed. Brennen works for Dmitri's escort service. His only desire is to please his lover. When Dmitri marries Nika, his lover moves him out of their home to an apartment in Beverly Hills and tells him nothing has changed.

What is Brennen going to do now?

Brennen does not understand his lover's Russian culture not allowing homosexuality. Two different cultures and age difference clash.

Warning:

This is a gay adult consensual story focused on themes of corporal discipline punishment and explicit sex with light elements of BDSM between adult men over the age of 18.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves MM. The characters are easily bonded with. Brina is a very talented writer and the book flows so well. It's hard to stop once you start!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Brennen, we have a lot in common. I can feel what Brennen feels and understand why he feels that way.

Which scene was your favorite?

The ending, I don't want to give it away.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both!!!

Any additional comments?

I liked hearing this book because it is one of my favorites and I have read it 3 times but to hear it was an entire different experience. I loved the accents too!

One of my favorite books now on Audible!

I listened to Rent Me by Brina Brday, narrated by James Talbot. I think this story would have been better and I would have enjoyed it more, if it had been narrated by a different person. There were too many times where the narrator made a mistake, stopped mid sentence, then started the sentence over again. OR the same phrase was repeated two and three times. There were even times when the narrator had cleared his throat during recording and it was never edited out.

As I said, I liked Brennan and Dmitri well enough and the story seemed interesting. I just kept being pulled out of it with each issue that came up with the narrator.

It's alright.

The story was okay, but the narrator was terrible. Bad sound editing made it worse. Far too many instances of the narrator stopping mid sentence after an error, then starting the sentence over. Very distracting.

Editing, please!

Not sure how to rate this one.

The narrator had many stops and starts and I just didn't feel connected to the story or a part of it. I was easily able to put this one aside and go to something else for a while on several occasions. I was never hooked in and it didn't hold my interest. I don't know if the editing was a fault of audible but it seems like usually these are cleaned up better.

The story itself was repetitive and confusing for me. I would have liked a bit more backstory on Brennan and Dmitri's family as well. I think this would have cleared up some of the confusion even though some of it does trickle into the story.

I have liked other titles by this author and the blurb sounded interesting to me but this time I just wasn't able to click with it.
