Some stories aren't easy to tell. Some situations aren't easy to relive. But I was raised to be strong - to hold my own. Because of it, I was hurt, torn down, beaten, and even had my heart snatched right out of my chest. But I'm ready now. It's time for me to speak up. You want to know what really goes on inside my head? Well, I'm right here. Real. Raw. Intense. This is all me. Roy Sykes. This is my story, and trust me…it's far from pretty.

Contains mature themes.

I thought it would have been better if they narrated Kelsey still having her country accent. We were introduced to her having it and it was so cute.

The story was good as the series have been. Really like to listen to Fox read. I like the dual narration. Would have been better if they would have read all the girl parts and Fox read all the male parts.

I'm just coming down from the euphoric 'high' that this well-written and well narrated book has left me in. It flips back in time to tell the story of Roy's tragic past with all it's heartbreak, drama and painful decisions he was forced to make to support his dying Mom which involved gangs, drugs and the Mafia. It also tells the story of his first love Rose and the sweet highs and bitter soul destroying lows of that relationship. It also covers the early days of Fire Nine and how they got started and how they came up with their band name.

Then it flips back to the present day where Roy's in such a good place, he's successful and in a happy loving relationship with Kelsey.... that is until a face from the past brings feelings and memories back which threatens to destroy everything.... and very nearly does.

I couldn't stop listening and I was captivated by Roy's bitter-sweet early years and all the heartbreaking drama he went through. Then, when he messed up his relationship with Kelsey, I could've smacked him round the head to knock some sense into him. More pain, more tears and more heartfelt drama. But, at the end of the day, there was a beautiful, passionate love story.

Dual POV's, well loved characters from the previous books, tense, raw, edge of your seat drama in parts, suspense, twists, revelations, passion filled sex scenes and a beautiful Epilogue. Christian Fox did an brilliant job at narrating the bulk of the story and then dual narrators for the present day chapters and they both did a great job.

Worth a credit? This book had it all for a romance junkie such as me.... so YEAH very very creditworthy and any romance book by S Q Williams will be an auto download from now on.

DRAMA, PASSION, ROMANCE.... IT TICKED EVERY BOX

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this story was pretty amazing, but the ending was kind of unrealistic. I was dissapointed.

Would you be willing to try another book from S. Q. Williams? Why or why not?

Yes. She's got great potential but hasn't completely fulfilled it yet. The books are good but there is some greatness throughout. So eventually I expect to come across a great book of hers. This was close but dived at the end. Maybe next time.

What does Christian Fox and Veronica Meunch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Christians voice.

Any additional comments?

As much as I adore Roy, he should have had to work much harder for forgiveness. The way this ended was unrealistic to me. It took this book from great to good.

Disappointing ending. But decent overall
