She's too sweet to ruin—but I must.

The Onyx Brotherhood offers me everything: money, resources, and the chance to pursue my research outside of the law. The ancient secret society shapes the world, but there's a dark price to join.

All Brothers must choose a Ward.

A captive woman to own, punish, and train to perfect submission. If I refuse or she fails to perform at my initiation ceremony, I'm dead.

Eve is sweet, naive, and addictive. My obsession grows until she's all I can think about. I watch her from the shadows and imagine her chained at my feet.

I can't do this to my beautiful girl. I shouldn't steal her from her innocent life.

But another man threatens to take what's mine, and all I can see is red.

Playtime's over.

If you love Shantel Tessier and Stasia Black's twisted worlds, you'll turn feral for the men of the Onyx Brotherhood!

First and foremost, Alyssa Avery and John Hartley absolutely killed this. While it’s not duet narration, they both did such a great job with voicing everyone. Alyssa is able to pick up some of John’s choices for Gabriel and bring them over so perfectly. She did every girl and boy voice so well. John? That man could read me the dictionary. His vocal choices are top tier here. His girl voice was one that didn’t sound too forced or take you out of the story.

Now for the story itself. Whewwwwww hello spicy. I needed a fan for some of these scenes. Eve had such a good arc. Her progression from ex fundie to absolute baddy felt so natural and not rushed. You can’t help but root for her. Gabriel took me a little bit to warm up to. He gave Eve exactly what she needed, but Zara did a great job of making me skeptical through Eve’s eyes. Don’t get it twisted, he is absolutely a simp who’s afraid to admit it. By the end, it’s obvious that they had to end up together. Brotherhood be damned. The politics were unique enough that it didn’t feel like a copy/paste cult plot.

Bring me a cult daddy

I absolutely love this series. I previously read books 1-3 on kindle and had immediately started looking for the audio versions because I like to listen to stories I’ve already read to absorb more details because when I sync in I can devour a book in a day or two depending on how much I like it, and these I read in a day or two max.
I am beyond happy it’s on audible and I loved reliving the start right before book 4’s release. I hope the whole series end up here. The only thing that threw me off while listening is about halfway through when it’s Gabriel’s pov the voice of Eve changes from what we hear at the start. It’s kinda got more of a twang like a soft southern accent. I noticed it after she gets to the compound and while it’s not bad it’s a change, but other than that. I loved it, and I am binging it and the other two so I am refreshed for the release this Friday, but then there’s a wait for book 5, which is the only downside.
Love this story line! Seriously two and three are even better and I have high hopes for 4. Definitely worth a listen and then a read.

Love this series!!!!

This was book 1 in the "Captives of the Ones Brotherhood " series. This was a good read that I also listened to on audio. Gabriel is a nerd who is dedicated to his work, but he wants to have the freedom to run his experiments without limitations. The Brotherhood allows him to do that. He wasn’t too happy about what he had to do. But having to take a ward had him bring up secret fantasies that most people keep to himself. Eve had a strict upbringing by an abusive mother who was religious. Eve is also dealing with the fact that she has been kidnapped she is someone's ward. This was a good read this was my first time reading anything by this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I also liked the narrators of this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

A Good Read

The beginning was interesting and kept me going but by the middle I was bored and stopped listening several times. There is only one real smut scene in the whole story and the rest is words filling in lines that don’t interest me. Not worth a credit or my time

Started off good and went downhill
