I listened to this book on audio, and omg! I was so captivated by this book that I finished it in a day. absolutely outstanding. The plot is incredibly suspenseful and keeps you hanging on till the end. I can't even begin to describe the character build. The character build is so good that I absolutely hated James through most of the book and thought there would be no redemption, but I was wrong. This book is quite dark and has some very dark scenes, but this so far is my top book of the year.

MMC is a hard cruel man, when he takes the FMC, his wife, for the first time it was very clinical and hard. There was no romance in anything. FMC has been beaten literally since she was 10 years old as a form of control and brainwashing. MMC is fighting against his dad and cousin for his legacy while the dad and cousin are playing against him.

This is a standalone book. There is another book but it will involve a different couple in the Legacy.
