RETURN TO BLACKWOOD INSTITUTE.
RUN BY THE INSANE, FOR THE INSANE.
Monster. Victim. Predator. Prey. I’ve always been certain of one hard fact–I don’t deserve to live. For all the pain and suffering I’ve inflicted, I tried to take the ultimate punishment. Anything to escape the horror of living with my crimes.
Survival wasn’t part of the bargain. The family I never intended to find are determined to keep me alive, but my mind has been turned against me. I don’t know what’s real anymore.
When the devil comes knocking, I’m forced to confront the truth. Blackwood Institute is far from what it seems. Now, I must learn how deep the darkness truly goes.
As our lives are thrown into chaos, harrowing secrets are uncovered and the carefully constructed illusion begins to unravel. I’ll stop at nothing to protect my family, even if that means sacrificing myself to the horrors of the Z Wing.
I’ve been running from my demons for a long time, but the truth is about to catch up to me. Time to become the monster the world thinks I am.
Author's Note: Sacrificial Sinners is a reverse harem contemporary romance set in an experimental mental health institution. This is book two in the trilogy and it must be listened to in order. Full trigger warning is available inside.

Brooklyn's men are left feeling devastated following the aftermath of the first book. There are a lot of hurt emotions and feelings of betrayal. Brooklyn is upset that she's still alive. Her mind is totally unhinged in this book and it is exacerbated by the introduction of "the Devil." Blackwood management has transferred and there are very dark happenings in the Z Wing. This book was so dark and definitely spicy!
Overall, I enjoyed the plot but sometimes felt like spicy scenes were thrown in just for the sake of being thrown in. I loved how dark this got and cannot wait to find out what happens in Desecrated Saints!!!
The audiobook is narrated by Bridget Bordeaux and Grant Armstrong. The narration was done so well! Other than my complaint of not having different narrators for each male character, I found the acting to be fantastic. Bridget Bordeaux portrayed the panic, anxiety, and madness of Brooklyn West in a manner that made me feel like I was in her head. I was feeling the desperation and terror that was being portrayed. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook as your read along with the physical or e-book!
Thank you to Valentine PR and J Rose for the opportunity to listen to an Advanced Listener's Copy (ALC). All opinions are my own.
Unhinged and wild!

To be compelled to do whatever it takes to fight for each other. That said I’ll continue the series when the next one comes out

This book is brutal and intense. We're in the middle now, and everything seems so dark and hopeless. Brooklyn is barely hanging on by a thread, and her boys are doing everything they can to keep her alive. The spice is intense and passionate. When chaos is all around them, they find solace in each other, and sometimes, it is the only thing that keeps them grounded. They are raw and brutal with one another because most times it's the only time they feel anything worth feeling. The express their frustrations, desperation, fear, longing and love all at one time, and it's explosive.
Listening to the audiobook is truly a different experience. The narrators, Bridget Bordeaux and Grant Armstrong do an exceptional job of pulling you into this story and portraying the deeply painful raw emotions that these characters experience in the midst of their relationships and their mental illnesses. It's brilliant work.
J. Rose has such a beautiful way with words, and her writing just effects me on a very visceral level. It's heartbreaking and terrifying, and she enthralls you into this world from the first words on the page. Blackwood Institute is hell on earth, and we still have one more book to go. 😫

"Broken people always band together, hoping to find the missing pieces of themselves in someone else."
♡Can WOW be my review!? J. Rose held nothing back in book 2 of the Blackwood Institute Trilogy. At this point I'm going to need 7-10 business days for my brain to process the dark, emotional, & twisted roller-coaster ride it just went on! As this world starts to unravel questions get answered but the deeper you fall into this dark Institute the more you will question your sanity & the end will leave your head spinning!
The dual narration for this audiobook was fantastic! Bridget & Grant did an exceptional job bringing this wild story to life! This trilogy has a wide cast of main & side characters & these two gave each & every one of them their own unique voice!♡
~As Always Happy Reading~

I am eating this trilogy up. I always love how well J Rose does mental health representation, but the found family trope in this book specifically hits me so hard. I was becoming emotional watching this close-knit family get over some of their differences and sticking together through thick and thin. They have every reason to be torn apart and broken down, but they still manage to persevere using each other as strength. I love how strong and resilient our FMC is, and I can't wait to see how this trilogy is going to wrap up.
The found family trope at it’s finest
