Amazing story telling

Kinda slow to start but worth sticking with it if you like high fantasy mixed with urban fantasy

Extremely well build world

From start to finish I was captivated with this book. It took everything to not just listen to it as quickly as possible, as soon as I realized the next book wasn’t going to be out till later that is.

Pleasantly Surprising

Refreshing storyline with non-western themes. Terrific world building and character development. At times, the MC rambles but… that’s just how it is.

One of the best new stories I’ve heard in a very long time

The story is amazing as well as the performer. I was 30 hours into the book before I realized how good the performer was. I got lost. I don’t see that very often. I’ve listened to almost 1200 books, and this is truly going to be a classic

Great start

Really strong start. There is some strong world building. An expansive world has been created here. I hope it can continue to grow without becoming overcomplicated. Right now everything is cool and new. I like the MC. He is a cool character. His magic is novel and interesting. This world of guns and magic is unique and immersive. The narration was really well done.
