Beautiful

What a phenomenal start to a series. Beautiful writing. Stunning emotional detail that makes you feel every last bit of what the characters are feeling. Narration was also spot on.

Top performance

Curious as to book 2 for sure. Good pace, great voice actor, slow burn, a bit of spice (1 open door scene), strong MMC, bit-annoying FMC. This book has the basic triggers but does include a character living with OCD (not used by name).

Book 2, please!

Overall a great start to the series. To me, the narrators voice fits the fmc. Pacing was good. World building was just enough to help craft the scenes in my mind. Interested to see how the fmc shows up in book 2.

“Liar!”

Wow…that was…intense. I don’t even know where my brain is right now.
On the surface, this is a simple travel story with an enemy > lover theme, some cool magic stuff (rune witch & fire mage). But there’s so much more: both of their psychological issues (…I wonder how a psychologist would rip to novel apart), the discovery of both of their past, peeled off like an onion, the sharp dialog, and then the f-ing cliffhanger ending. Nooooo…!
Sorry but not sorry for this emotional review. If you’re looking for a fast paced story with lots of action and lots of spice: don’t even bother. But if you want to deep dive into a couple of damaged individuals, and be a witness of how their relationship transforms over time, and then they finally see each other like who they they truly are (you gotta be patient, my friends!) you will LOVE this novel. I’ll be grinding my teeth until book 2 comes out. Whelp.

Absolutely incredible!

I usually struggle with a single reader book. This voice actor does an amazing job. She’s absolutely fantastic. I’ve read this book previously, the audio made me love it even more. I would love for them to do duet! This story is fantastic 10/10 recommend!
