Stone Barrington uncovers a societal minefield in this exhilarating adventure from #1 New York Times-bestselling author Stuart Woods.

When an old acquaintance reaches out to Stone Barrington requesting assistance, the job seems easy enough. She needs an expert in an esoteric field, someone with both the knowledge and careful dexterity to solve a puzzle. But the solution to one small problem blows the lid open on a bigger scandal going back decades, and involving numerous prominent New Yorkers who would prefer the past stay buried.

With this explosive information in-hand, Stone Barrington is caught between a rock and a hard place, his only options either to play it safe to the detriment of others, or to see justice done and risk fatal exposure. But when it comes to Stone Barrington, danger is usually just around the corner . . . so he may as well throw caution to the wind.

Not my favorite Stuart Woods and not my favorite Stone Barrington. I’ll still read it at least a dozen times. And even though it’s not my favorite, it’s still a really good read. Touches on politics, financial crime, and organized crime. It introduces a new character in the Stone Barrington series; a young computer geek that I hope to hear from again.

I liked the story line and all the smart people trying to track the family down. didn't appreciate the democrat rah-rah...but overlooked it.

He still can't keep it in his pants. But there was a LOT of Dino in this one and that made me very happy. Mr. Woods is so good at "reviewing" old storylines to keep everyone up to date, in case it's been a while since you've read the last one. I love the new characters alot. But - honestly - what's up with that ending. I was driving along happily listening. And then - it was over. Sigh. So. Teddy Fay will be next in a couple of months.
