In spite of the daily hardships, Catherine had much to be thankful for, especially for Cassie, her dearest friend. But when Catherine received a disturbing note from a stranger, she wasn't sure what she should do or who she should tell. Only her diary knew the anguish in her heart. Would her secret drive a wedge in her friendship with Cassie or bind them together forever?

The fact that it’s all a diary is extremely cool

I loved how detailed every journal entry was having the day, month, and year which had to of taken a lot of time.

Good but…

You’re probably wondering why I gave this book five stars if I think it’s good but… Well it wasn’t the best book ever and it should have been more realistic since it was more realistic. But it was a sweet story and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical fiction. Also I’M NOT DAN I’m Laura and I do Classical conversations challenge B in Garden City Kansas. HOME SCHOOL ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was extremely sad, but a delightful read! I loved the steady pace of the narrator of gathering of days!!!
