My days are filled with perusing August’s sexy body, reading, and petting my villain cat.

Or they should be.

Of course I can’t just kick back and let the world burn around me because August “cares” about people and while I really… don’t, the idea of my one true love waltzing off into danger has me chasing after him, flinging bad guys as far as I can with my telekinesis.

This sounds easy enough—I can fling people in my sleep—until someone uses an illusion to make me believe the worst. I might be one of the most powerful supers alive, but when it’s impossible to tell what’s real and what’s not, lines begin to blur.

Along with my band of… misfits (I’m trying to be nice here), including a firestarter who seems to excel at burning the clothes off others (I’m never going to complain about a naked August), an excitable assassin who really needs to start asking before he shoots, and an illusionist who is disgustingly normal, we’re going to save the world.

I’m joking; I don’t care about saving the world. I just want to make sure no one touches my man.

This whole thing was a joy to read, then listen to. I love it all, but I love more than anything, how far Alice has come as a writer. Ive kept up from start to finish with her, and truly it’s been a ride!

Alice Winters is just wonderful

There is so much to unpack…but to kinda summarize my mad ravings, which I could easily dive into but won’t since I’m still trying to process the fact I just finished the last book. At least I think..it’s been two years so I’m thinking so? Who knows? Hope not because I need a third book! Anyway…I loved Landon and August from the first book and the second did not disappoint. Love their love and all that jazz. The contrast between the two characters make it that much more entertaining. Then in comes three new characters that definitely need their own books. Fell for each of them just as much, especially Asmodeus. Ugh love him. And Brandon! God bless him, his character is absolutely hilarious..the sign…iykyk. He had me cackling every time. Though I can’t help but feel bad for him but he’s so…out there, that nothing phases him much. Honestly you can’t help but love the man. Alice did another phenomenal job with this serious and I’ve just about read every single one of her books. Already reread a couple as well and I’m slightly addicted. This book along with her other works are just easy to read and enjoy. It has a dash of everything, spice, romance, humor, drama—everything. Every book I’ve read has sucked me into its world and I’ve loved every second.
AND to top this series off…the narration..mmm makes it so much better because Michael Lesley narrates and he is a top tier voice actor like dang. Love him, love the author and love the book and everything in between. Can’t go wrong with this series.

Yesssss! Was waiting (so impatiently) for this audiobook and the wait was totally worth it. The writing is hilarious - loved the book but the narration really cranks up the constant laughing-out-loud factor with spot-on sarcasm and superb delivery.

Had to wait way too long for another book in this series but omg it’s was sooo worth it!!! The first book is what introduced me to Alice Winters. Even though her books are similar in that there is typically a really quirky character And a more typical alpha one…the humor And shenanigans…the heart AND the love is just so worth reading them all that are like that!!!

Long awaited

Was very funny and surprisingly dark. However, the trifecta of it being a mystery involving illusions told from a first-person perspective made things hard to follow, particularly since it means you cannot necessarily trust that what's being narrated is actually happening, which I suppose is the point, but that is unfun for me. If you're someone who also struggles with this, you may wish to get the paperback instead (or as well), so you have an easier time going back to check things.

Funny but sometimes hard to follow
