i was hoping for more character development in the female character. was hoping she could be more badass. maybe be able to actually fight or something. seems like the male characters are always to save the day or luck saves her. kind of annoying. this book rushed so many things that could have been detailed like the first books. what is that about. just felt like the author was just over the book series maybe. idk. just so much potential.

rushed

Really enjoyed this series but feels like we didn’t get all the fun intimacy scenes we anticipated and hoped for and the ending was rushed.
The old lady with dentures voicing Lonnie was just so bad. Stewart voicing the men is the reason for any stars at all for the performance aspect.

Rushed ending but enjoyed the story

as good as the first book? no. as bad as everyone else says? also no. it feels a bit rushed, like the author realized she didn't like the story anymore and just wanted to end it. there was no payoff on all the group intimacy hinted at in previous books. chemistry was severely cut to make time for all the plot points that needed tied up. and there were several continuity errors. overall tho, worth listening to on a commute to feel closure on the series.

also: an author who doesn't take the time to update the audible cover from "coming soon" to an actual cover after the book being live for months gives big "i don't care anymore" energy. or that the author hopes no one will buy the book because they also don't like it. do better.

not as bad as other reviews say

Am I surprised that a romantasy series had a promising start, tried to keep the 5 star energy fresh for 2 more books but the romantasy forgot to romantasy after book 1? Nope! Seems to be a pattern as of late for lots of authors 😔

*Note to romantasy authors: There's no need to rush out 2nd and 3rd books in a series when the 1st one does well! I will gladly wait as long as it takes for the same energy and quality in subsequent books!!! I will, however, contemplate skipping the next series in situations like this 🤨

Great start, ending was meh.

I loved everything except the ending. It just kinda ended. I feel like we skipped the war that should have happened at the end or at least one epic smack down.

it just flopped
