The yearly floods in Stonecreek inevitably claim lives, but when Valerie pulls a refugee from the turbulent waters, she uncovers a dark secret about her home.

For most, there is sanctuary to be had in their high-walled homes. For outsiders shunned by those in power, there is only exile or death.

To create a better future for Stonecreek, Valerie must become a light in the dark—even if it means she joins the ranks of those doomed to be purged from the city-state’s stony streets.

This was an awesome book. A small town woman that ends up being a hero to "immigrants", refugees, and her city-state. The book is a fast paced novel that did not feel like 14 hours. Keira Grace does a marvelous job with all the characters and her tone for the story is spot on. Buy it! Buy it now!

Seriously I’m not even joking and the way this book sounds. It is in the same world as the RJ Blaine book “Life Debt” it sounds like it takes place very soon after earth was inhabitable and I truly am enjoying all of these books RJ Blaine creates incredible world under all of their aliases, and in my opinion are also safe for teen readers there is romance and some lite but no ridiculously graphic sex scenes that I have noticed

Love! Love! Love!
