A magnificent ball. A locked door. And a villain in search of scandal.

When Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy find themselves locked together in the library during the Netherfield Ball, they face compromise and scandal. Elizabeth’s startling solution to the problem causes Fitzwilliam Darcy to discover something profound—the lady he ardently admires thoroughly despises him.

Darcy resolves to do everything in his power to change her mind about him. With gossip and slander flowing throughout Meryton, this is not an easy task, but Darcy has never backed down from difficulty.

When the Bennets leave Meryton to escape the whispering of their neighbors, Darcy and Bingley follow, determined to assist the ladies they adore. The appearance of Darcy’s imperious aunt, Lady Catherine, makes the situation grow even more complicated.

Darcy can only forge onward, battling recalcitrant relatives and old enemies, in pursuit of the thing he wants most of all, the hand and heart of Elizabeth Bennet.

This is a sweet and clean, low angst Pride and Prejudice variation where all of the Bennet sisters have happy endings, with a satisfying epilogue.

very good, similar to the original story, but with a few differences that move the story in a whole different direction

one of my favorites of Larabas books

Harry Frost’s narration is wonderful and the story is well written and keeps you invested. I enjoyed it once I excepted that it wasn’t the lighthearted romp that a preview I listened to indicated. Between Wickham’s and Caroline’s cruel rumors upon more rumors about Elizabeth spread in Meryton and London it was more angst ridden than I was expecting. Wickam even schemed with Lady Catherine to cause more harm. I enjoy Ms. Kendig’s writing and own most of her audiobooks. Thankfully the various members of the Matlock family stepped up and dealt with the miscreants. It does have a happy ending for ODC and Darcy working to win Elizabeth’s heart was very satisfying. As were the many epilogues. I also liked Anne coming into her own in this story .

Elizabeth’s reputation ruined

This was a pleasant listen, with Wickham attending the Netherfield Ball and causing snowballing troubles. I loved Elizabeth’s courage to climb down the trellis, and The heroism shown by Lydia and Georgiana. Mr Harry Frost gave us another entertaining performance with his talented narration, too.
