They say that timing is everything....

Their chance meeting at Pemberley helped Elizabeth Bennet to realize her true feelings for Mr. Darcy. That same meeting gave him the opportunity to show Elizabeth that he had taken her criticism to heart and made improvements to his behavior. Would this new start finally lead to their happily ever after?

How might the relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy have been different if they had become betrothed before Elizabeth learned of Lydia’s elopement? Would they have traveled to London together? Would Elizabeth have assisted in her sister’s recovery? Would Lydia and Wickham still have married or would there be another way to save Elizabeth’s youngest sister?

A Matter of Timing answers all those questions and more.

Lovely story and a great narrative. Mr Darcy proposed before they knew about Lydia’s elopement. Funny and witty. Great read. Great Jaff.

Great story

What a wonderful take on P&P. It never made sense to me (in the original) how Darcy arranged for Lydia to marry Wickham. They would be brothers forever.

So the fact there could be an alternate path was very interesting.

The characterizations are believable. They are canon. Just a joy.

So many variations depict Elizabeth so shrewish that it is hard to believe Darcy would bother. She is bringing so much baggage into the marriage and her father depending on him to make up for his failure to secure his family’s future is not much of a recommendation. It becomes hard to imagine that a man as elegant and highly placed as Mr. Darcy would be willing to put up with a harridan not to mention the horrible mother, Lydia, Mr. Collins and the annoying attitude of Mr. Bennet. I am glad this story has a Lizzy we can be proud of. Also no trashing of Bingly and Jane! Everyone stays true to their original character. I very much enjoyed it and the narration was perfect as always by Stevie Zimmerman my favorite narrator along with Harry Frost and Neil Roy McFarlane. This was definitely worth the credit.

Finally a nice Elizabeth

I like that the miscommunication was dealt with as soon as they met up during the Pemberley visit. It's interesting how that timing and the subsequent timing of the proposal and Jane's letter can change so much of the plot. This narrator is always fantastic as her character voices are on point in each book.

Very good story

This is a sweet, feel good and very low angst tale. Stevie of course is fabulous! Sometimes one just requires some fluff and hearts. Well written and most enjoyable.
