Following a harrowing disappearance, a woman returns home to her family—and a life-changing secret in a powerful novel about betrayal, resilience, and love’s unbreakable bonds.

After fifteen years in captivity, Nova Lefleur is free, back home, and reunited with her Louisiana family. Through her ordeal, she never forgot them. They never forgot her either. But things have changed since Nova’s been gone.

Nova and her encouraging seventeen-year-old daughter, Skye, are getting to know each other for the first time. Her husband, Quinton, is rebuilding a relationship with a wife he thought was gone forever. And Nova’s sister, Leah, is overjoyed—and overwhelmed.

Leah shares a secret with Quinton neither can bear to tell the woman they cherish. Not yet. Five years ago, bonding over grief and finding a reason to smile again, Quinton and Leah were married. When it’s time for the truth to come out, they could lose Nova all over again.

As Nova is eased back into a life both familiar and unfamiliar, she and her family must confront their deepest fears, the choices they made, and the choices to come that will reshape each of their lives forever.

Sky Full of Love was just okay for me. While the setting and premise had potential, the story felt a bit flat overall. I kept waiting for more emotional depth or dramatic moments that would really pull me into the characters’ lives, but that never quite happened. The romantic storyline in particular felt underdeveloped and lacked the chemistry or tension that typically makes a love story memorable.

One thing that stood out to me was how quickly the sister forgave her sister after everything that happened. That moment felt rushed and a little unrealistic, considering the weight of the betrayal. I think the story would have been stronger if the author had taken more time to explore the hurt, tension, and process of rebuilding that relationship.

I also found myself wanting more complexity in the conflicts and character development. The book touched on interesting themes, but it didn’t fully explore them in a way that created strong emotional stakes. Overall, it wasn’t a bad listen, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression or deliver the drama and passion I was hoping for.

The premise of the book was ok but the writing was juvenile and the book took forever to get somewhere

This was a beautiful story. The start was scary but glad that Nova was found. The love from her family really helped her get through, but I can't imagine having to accept the fact that your own sister marries your ex-husband. Beautiful ending.

Real family love can see you through

Surprisingly well-thought out. I’m a detail girl. So it wasn’t until towards the last third of this book that I realized without going dark the author covered and resolved all the main character’s issues. It was brilliantly done and brought out all the feels and tears! Also at the beginning when I said surprisingly well-thought out, it wasn’t to shade, but to give accolades for connecting all the dots in a clean way.

I Luv this book!

The plot of this book had potential, but man it swung hard into Tyler Perry/Hallmark movie territory. Not at all what I thought it would be.
