She's ruthless in business but vulnerable in his arms.

Trey Devereaux is out to prove her corporate mettle to her skeptical father. When she sees a chance to take control of Devereaux Inc. from her estranged grandfather, she pounces. But Jeremiah Benton, his second-in-command, is fiercely protective of the Devereaux patriarch...and absolutely enticing.

The storyline was interesting in a good way. I enjoyed the business aspect of it. However, there were some parts that felt like they were only included to bridge one part of the story to the next in a longer format. The terrible communication between characters was starting to feel repetitive. Additionally, the narrator left A LOT to be desired. I wasn’t a fan of the narrator at all. I think it didn’t help the story flow at all. While 2 narrators (1 for men characters 1 for women characters ) would’ve been perfect it honestly could’ve been done with 1 narrator who has a diverse range of voices.

Did she read the story? Yes. Could I tell the difference between the grandfather and the granddaughter? No. She read but did not perform it. Most of the time I felt like she needed to clear her throat. It wasn't horrible, but would have benefitted from a male and female narrator or a stronger, more expressive female reader.
The story was decent but the narrator took away from it for me. I kept wondering 'how much longer is this?'

She read it

I enjoyed the storyline and the realness of the family dynamics. I also loved the character Tre was and how she was a real boss

Loved the story and compassion of the characters

Audible just lets anybody who can read and talk record. I’m sure the story was great, but I just couldn’t get past the narrator’s annoying voice. Yuck

The narrator shouldn’t be able to read audio books

The Voice was so unbearable I tried four different times to restart the book. I just couldn’t… Waste of a credit

The reader killed me!
