I enjoyed the book

I enjoyed the book. So many other reviewers mentioned it was terrible and slow and nothing happened I was afraid to listen. The book is not slow it simply takes time explore a lot of the more mundane aspects of (let’s go fight a battle and save the world). In real life the actual fighting takes a minority of the time and all the prep takes the longest. This books has some major events that are very powerful, others that will be disappointing and sad. I do not read a book expecting every turn to please me and I was not disappointed.

Another sacrifice required

Sullivan advances the story of how humans break from under the thumb of the Fhrey. Humans have demonstrated that they can kill Fhrey, but can’t compete with Fhrey magicians. Only sacrifice can even the score.

Great plot - hard to put down

The development of the characters and the plot in this volume make it hard to put down - I always wanted to find out what happened next.

Gets better

After about six hours of listening, I was ready to give up, but then the story picks up and stops just being repetitive jargon

This review is coming from 28 year old male who rarely finds the time read or even listen to books. Yet, I’ve now been enveloped into this fanciful and have listened to every book leading up to this one. I listen as I tend the property outside my home in 90F+ heat and the time melts away faster than I do. I never thought I would become so attached to a misfit gathering of characters, but I’ve found myself laughing and crying at the oddest of times.

I’ve even decided to take a moment in the sun to write this review mainly because sought after the next book. My recommendation is that you read this book. You won’t be disappointed.
