Loved listening to this book; eager to continue the series!

This was a delightfully humorous and intriguing story of a character thrust into a chaotic apocalyptic system that he quickly learns to adapt to and thrives in. Despite his general dislike of people, he makes friends and joins up with group in which he is able to form a symbiotic relationship.... they give him arrows, he gives them extra food, he bonds with a widow and her daughter and they become his meaning in life.

The author created a fascinating new world and wrote wonderful characters and relationships -- heck even some of the zombies have interesting relationships with each other! The voice reader does a great job of keeping a well paced tempo and relaying attributes to each of the people pivotal to the story.

Great book

I enjoy the non conventional main character, lots of books have main characters who are good with people and suave, I personally relate more to this character, I have a hard time understanding people, as does he. The main character also has an approach to battle and hardships that I find refreshing. I am looking forward to the rest of this series!

The main character's personality.

I love the story! kept me really engaged. I love that the book explain events well and not incredibly convolutedly. I love that the main character doesn't go on a 30 minute narration rant that ends up giving me a massive headache. books that do that too much for example is ultimate level one, the good guys series, defiance of the fall and lots of others. s*** just gets annoying. i quit defiance of the fall. Because it just, you know, it became too much. I was scared to buy this book Thinking it was gonna give me more of the same. I'm so glad it surprised me! The only thing i would add, not a dislike our complaint, but just a suggestion, I would lean into more adult scenarios or try achieving more horror of what people or evil creatures are capable of in a end of the world apocalypse scenario. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love this book! who cares what other people think what sociopath means. it is the author that is taking us for a ride.

This was a fun book

I enjoyed this book a lot the world was a bit different and it never let you predict what was going to happen next. All in all a soild book looking forward to the next one.
