Garrett Cross is no stranger to traveling the outlands. He's been roaming for years, hunting down vampires and giving them exactly what they deserve: sharpened stakes and silver bullets.

Now, he's come to Frontier Falls. It's a little settlement where humans and vampires have made peace. But if there's one thing Cross knows, it's vampires, and any deal they make is one just waiting to be broken.

It's not long before Cross finds himself fond of the town's locals—chief among them a sheriff's daughter and a tinkerer's daughter. Love after so much time spent with only his pistols for company is a little strange, but it's not exactly unexpected. He's known love before—after all, that's what put him on the road way back when.

But the last thing he expected when coming to Frontier Falls was to become its new sheriff. Or that doing so would have the local witch name him the prophesied Arcane Lawmaker.

Whatever Frontier Falls and its denizens have in store for Garrett Cross, it's clear he's not going to be leaving anytime soon.

It’s an entertaining read throughout. The narrators have done a great job as well. And it was all good until Book 3 and near the end. About an hour or so left to the book “The Hand Of The Author” appears. Your Badass Gunslinging Vampire Killer becomes a dummy and thinks the same vampire he couldn’t kill with a single bullet the last time all of the sudden is dead from a single bullet this time? Slight spoilers ahead…

You know that doesn’t make any sense, right? Your vampire antagonist plays possum and instead of filling the body full of silver bullets, he rushes up and… gets disarmed and kicked across a full span only to be unable to stop the vampire antagonist from killing “Mr. I’m a Sacrifice for the story plot’s sake” who only just showed up in this chapter…

Bro? WTF? Is your editor overwhelmed by the amount of books you’re writing? I saw that guy dying the moment he showed up. The moment your MC shoots the rifle shot, I saw the idiocy he got flooded with. It doesn’t feel like he made an honest mistake. It feels like your character became a dummy for the sake of the plot. I’m still entertained by the books. It’s not the smutty fantasy I was originally exposed to in Mayor Of Elf Town, but I see this turn towards less smut when they gain some popularity. Now we get an occasional scene. Most things hint towards the adult stuff only to fade to black. I’m not mad at this, but I noticed it.

Also, I’m assuming the narrator duties being handled by Rozelyn Rader are not about her beautiful voice being more appealing to the ears? Usually the POV character’s narrator would equate to the overall narrator of the story. I find this not being the case…interesting. She does a really good job overall, but I’m seeing a bit of a trend.

Anyway, the books are good and worth my time spent listening to/ reading them. Well worth the credit or the cash. Though I hope the author hides his hands better in the future.

It was all good stuff until Book 3

Started out ok, then turned into garbage. The author is trying to copy old west language cadence, yet it basically turned into something a 5th grader would’ve done if they’d only ever seen spaghetti westerners. It’s one thing to take inspiration from lord of the rings, it’s completely different to rip it off like an idiot. Don’t bother with the purchase or download.

Don’t bother wasting the money.

This omnibus was only fair in the end. It started out strong and interesting but fizzled along the way I am sorry to say.

It was only fair

Otherwise the first few chapters were alright. Audible should have a rating system for violence, swearing & sex so we dont have to invest some time in a book just to return it before we get halfway thru.

I didn't like the zombie gore they have in there.
