You are not too sensitive. You are not too much. You are not broken.

For years, you knew you were different. You just didn't know why.

If you're a neurodivergent woman with a late autism, ADHD, or AuDHD diagnosis, or you strongly suspect you are, and you're wondering what the hell do I do now? This book is your lifeline.

You've spent decades masking, over-functioning, and putting everyone else first. You've pushed through burnout, ignored your sensory needs, and still felt like you were failing at being a person. Why do relationships feel so complicated? Why are you exhausted by everyday tasks others find simple? Why do you constantly feel like a stranger in your own life?

Your late diagnosis changes everything but no one gave you the manual for what comes next.

This isn't just another self-help book. It's your roadmap back to yourself. Jenny Lucas, trauma-informed coach and former teacher, combines honest storytelling with practical strategies to help you:

  • Stop the self-blame and finally feel worthy, exactly as you are
  • Heal from neurodivergent burnout with no guilt and no shame
  • Navigate relationships without masking or people-pleasing
  • Understand your sensory profile and calm your overwhelmed nervous system
  • Embrace your unique strengths and stop apologizing for how your brain works

Stop surviving. Start thriving as your authentic self.

Finally understand why relationships feel so complicated, why everyday tasks exhaust you, and how to create accommodations that actually work for your neurodivergent brain.

I found her to be humorous and very relatable. I have never felt more understood by any other books similar. Gifted it to my mom!

Very validating and relatable

I have known something was "off" about how I think, act, and feel for a long time, but I couldn't quite place a finger on it. My brother was diagnosed as ADHD as a young child while I, as a female, was overlooked since I "excelled" in school and could "overcome" any struggles I was having. I'm 37 now, ironically the same age the author was when she was diagnosed, and I have been suspecting for the last few years, after some shutdowns and meltdowns, that I was probably ADHD or something. After recently learning about AuDHD and seeing a YouTube Short from this author, I was amazed at how she was saying some of the exact thoughts I've had and shared her experiences which lead her to a late diagnosis. I quickly watched a few more videos of her and knew that I needed to learn more. I downloaded Audible and bought her audio book. I was so thrilled to actually learn a lot about myself and even more relieved to know the WHY behind some things I've struggled with. After listening to this audiobook, I know there is a way forward and I am thankful for her encouragement and tips. I enjoyed listening while I did house chores or driving to work. The only critique I have is I wanted a longer pause after each question during the chapter Reflections. This would have given me more of a chance to answer the questions or write them down to ask myself later. I also haven't figured out yet how to download the free PDF mentioned in the audiobook, but I'm sure eventually I will.
Thank you, Jenny, for this guide. I truly believe it will be the beginning of my journey to learning more about supporting my brain through what will most likely be an AuDHD diagnosis.

It a long conversation, that your not apart of with someone that doesn't finish cohesive thoughts. The narration was not good, maybe the accent on and off. But no I didn't get much out of this. if you read the summary you've got the jist. It just a personal ramble.
