Old Autistic Woman Yells At Clouds

so much of this book can be summed up with the phrase "back in my day." And so much of that is just the same tired old tropes that you get in a nightly news or any random pearl-clutching article. if you're a parent with a young autistic child and you have never heard of the internet, this might be the book for you. If you are autistic, want to teach autistic students, or have any exposure to autism in the real world, this isn't going to be helpful.

I expected so much more from Temple Grandin. only being "allowed" to still or engage in autistic behaviors for one or two hours a day, and only in her bedroom, is so messed up. ABA is not right for many, many kids. and there should be no "minimum" number of ABA hours per week that applies to all autistic children. I couldn't even finish reading this.
