They've been enemies their entire lives, until an arranged marriage sparks a passion they can't ignore...

When Princess Rose is forced to marry the handsome, brooding wizard king, she's whisked away to his foreboding castle without even a chance to say good-bye to her family. She soon discovers her new home holds dark secrets that threaten the entire land, secrets no one dares speak of - and her mysterious husband is at the center of them.

King Raith may have taken a bride to end a needless war, but after his former wife's murder he has no interest in falling in love again. As Rose defies him at every turn, her beauty and boldness tempt him to open his heart a second time, and every day it gets harder to resist her. But she must never discover the curse threatening the kingdom - or the dark depths of Raith's soul.

As their desire for each other grows, Rose will do whatever it takes to uncover the truth about Raith's past and the shadows spreading across the land. When darkness threatens to tear them apart, they'll have to find a way to stop it together - or doom their kingdom forever.

Contains mature themes.

I think I would have liked this book better if I had read it instead of listened to it. The narrators were professional but very robotic and I think my imagination would have been better.

Loved the Story

My review aside I meant to also thank the author since this book was free. So……
To the author I sincerely thank you for sharing and I appreciate your efforts, maybe for the future sister’s books you give us a little more suspense and panache lol ( but seriously)
It would make the story pop which is all this one was lacking. ( The Pop Factor ) 👍🏽🤗

I was reading through some of the reviews after reading/listening to the story, and I am surprised at how negative many of them are. Most of the reviews I read were either very negative against the story and narrators or very positive. So, my opinion is that the story was all right. The storyline, plot, characters, setting, etc. was interesting enough for me to read/listen to the entire story. I liked the characters, became invested in their story, and I did want to know how the story turned out, although I had a feeling about how it would turn out. I also feel that there were missed opportunities with some of the character development, especially with some of the intrigue with the secondary characters. However, it is very possible that some of the things I'm referring to are touched on and developed more in the next book, which I have not read yet. Now, as far as the narrators go, many people pretty much said they were horrible, and again, my personal opinion, I disagree. and I know everybody can have their own opinions, so that's why I'm just sharing mine. I have listened to stories that were narrated much worse than this story. I didn't have a major problem with the male or female narrators. They weren't my favorite, but they weren't the worst in the world either! I would listen to this book again because I did enjoy it, I enjoyed all of it, including the narration. I did find that it was a little confusing when the Kindle edition did not match the Audible edition. The Kindle edition called the main characters some type of Fae whereas the Audible refers to the characters as using Magic. That definitely is a big difference, so I stopped reading the Kindle and just listened to the Audible book. Overall, it is a decent book that I would listen to again, and I do plan to listen to the second book in the series to see what happens next.

OK book

... listened to a book that had narrators who sounded like they were faking being high bred and snobby and enunciated every consonant so clearly that it grated on your nerves, but you were interested in seeing how the book plays out enough to not quit listening?
Yeah, that's me Wish I had just read the book instead.

Have you ever....
