The last thing I need while trying to make a success of my outdoor adventure company is a beautiful distraction. It takes all my focus to fight off the demons that remain from the injury that ended my career as a Royal Marine and deal with the clients that make me want to climb the nearest mountain and never come down.

But Parker Lawrence walks into our office, takes over a phone call, and changes everything. My desperate desire to keep her close has nothing to do with the fact that she's sunshine personified—sweet, capable, and completely unfazed by my grumpitude and total lack of charm.

She’s also hiding something. I should mind my own business, but this bright Southern belle has gotten under my skin, and I want to save her every bit as much as it feels like she's saving me.

When her secret catches up to her, I'll do anything to keep her safe, even if those overprotective instincts risk driving away the best thing that's ever walked into my life.

I really loved this one. My personal favorite of the series. The grumpy/Sunshine bit was done well and not overdone either. It was so sweet watching them understand and support each other's physical challenges, and I loved the way they valued and celebrated each other's strengths. They complemented each other so well, and once they realized they wanted each other they didn't fight it. Instead they just became teammates. I found Parker so refreshing. she knew what she wanted and she was determined to get it. at the same time, she was smart enough to know she had some physical limitations and that she wasn't trained to fend off the threat. Instead of fighting Callum, Jade, and the guys help just to prove she was an independent woman, she accepted their help without attitude or resentment at them, even if the situation was frustrating for her, and I really respected that. Sometimes strength and intelligence is knowing when to accept help, and she did it with grace, while proving all the ways she was capable, intelligent, and talented in other ways. Callum was so swoony. Mr. Broody was a teddy bear when it came to Parker (and only Parker). He took such good care of her while always showing her so much respect and really worked to know when to push and when to back off and let her push herself, and he made sure everyone knew how amazing he thought she was. One of my favorite couples of any of her series (which are all fantastic and worth a read or listen). As always, narration was fantastic. These two play so well together. The accents are good (his may be real, but hers is not but she does the Scottish well throughout the series, though Parker and Jade are American so not always needed in this one), but it is not at all difficult to understand either narrator if you aren't Scottish, which has sometimes been a little difficult with some Scottish based books I've listened to. Highly recommend this book (and the entire series, along with her Wayward Sons series under her pen name Harper Jackson if you're looking for more great reads/listens).

My favorite of the series

I love stories set in the Highlands of Scotland as it is one of my favourite places to visit.

This is Parker Lawrence, a woman with secrets and former Royal Marine, Callum Quinn story.

This was a well written story that drew me in and had me invested from the first chapter to the last.

The sparks flew from the moment she walked into his office and the chemistry continued to develop.

This was a fast paced story with characters whose story you cannot help but become invested in.

When Parker’s secrets catch u with her, Callum will do whatever is necessary to protect her.

There are equal amounts of romance and suspense that makes this a one click for me.

Narrated by John Lane and Amy McFadden who did a brilliant job in their narration. They brought all the drama, passion and romance out . John’s Scottish accent is so good to listen too. Their performances did justice to the wonderful story and the characters created.

Loved it

I really love this series, but this is now my favorite. It has all you want in a read. The hero and heroine have their own personal struggles but together they are magic. There is tension, connection, mystery and a terrific love story.

Loved this Grumpy/Sunshine
