Bleak House is the ninth novel by Charles Dickens

Published in twenty monthly installments between March 1852 and September 1853. It is held to be one of Dickens's finest novels. A complex plot, it challenges the reader to make connections--between the fashionable and the outcast, the beautiful and the ugly, the powerful and the victims. Nowhere in Dickens's later novels is his attack on an uncaring society more imaginatively embodied, but nowhere either is the mixture of comedy and angry satire more deftly managed.

Charles Dickens (1812 - 9 June 1870) is arguably the greatest novelist England ever produced.

Dickens weaves characters and plots that stay in my heart and mind. Of course, one must devote hours and hours to these stories, and there are some side bits that he could have scrapped, but still. This is a favorite. The reader has a different voice for each character, so it is like going to the theater and knowing each person on the stage. Dickens is a treasure, and Bleak House is not a bleak listen.

I love this story

I bought this version because it was first by rating. Too late I realized few people had rated it. I had to return the book because the echoes and skips were too annoying. The story has me intrigued, however, so I am searching for another version.
