Aristotle Brown is starting to like his new job with the U.S. Marshals Interspecies Response unit. If anyone would have told him vampires, shifters, werewolves, and space aliens existed a few months ago, he would have called them crazy. But meeting his new partner has proven to be the best part of the I.S.R. He’s settling into the new job and the new man nicely. When he moved out to Los Angeles from Lexington, Kentucky a few months ago, he thought he might try finding a guy, but he never expected to feel that way about his new partner.

Eoghan Sapphire thinks Ari is beautiful and brilliant, and that’s probably a good thing since they spend a lot of time together. Very quickly, he realizes that the feelings he’s having for the man, aren’t purely professional. He wishes things would slow down but when work gets in the way, he realizes they can’t stop moving…not even for a minute. On the way to Northern California to help the local tribal police locate a fugitive shifter Eoghan once put behind bars, he and Ari drop in on a friend before coming face to face with a couple of unexpected predators. And if their life wasn’t crazy enough, a few insulted cephalopods give chase.

Better still, a case involving a vampire with a very unusual oral fixation, has both of them grateful for the blood-sucker’s restraint. Just when both men think things might settle down and there’ll be an end to the madness, they’re tasked to meet a couple of the scariest shifters they’ve ever heard of. And just to put a cherry on top of the assignment, it turns out these guys aren’t exactly the forgiving kind. As Eoghan and Ari enter a world neither could have prepared for, they come face to face with something thought to live only…in legend.

This series continues to be very interesting and entertaining to read. I got pulled into this story just as easily as book one. When you add in the great audiobook with narration by Declan Winters for the majority of this book, I couldn't help but enjoy the experience.

Still Not Up to the par of the Destruction series. As I wrote in my review of book 1...this was not Patricia Logan's best writing. I have heard all of her Destruction series & ALL of the offshoot series from the Destruction series, & the writing & the narration in this book feels less mature &/or less developed from all of the others that I've heard from Patricia Logan. However, since I have already purchased the entire series, I will continue to listen to this series.

Ari and Eoghan certainly do not have a boring job! I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the series. (Don’t listen to this one if you haven’t heard/read the first one!) Nothing really slows down for these two for them to enjoy their relationship but that is all part of the ride. Good story! Wonderful narration!

I love these guys

This book is written from Ari’s point of view. When Eoghan and Ari go on a case of a missing woman and her kids, Ari helps figure out a bad guy is why she ran. They come across a Mer family. And they meet Dragons, Ari almost dies twice 😮 the book is intriguing.

Which leads to Who is spying on the I.S.R.?

The narration was wonderful.

Can’t wait for the next book.

Ari and Eoghan are back a the cases keep getting wierder and the conspiracy gets deeper. Worried about who the mole is and what they know means Ari and Eoghan will have to step even more carefully. New creatures and situations may be discovered but that just poses more questions as the overarching grows.
Declan Winters does a great job of giving voice to Ari and it was fun having the narrator change to Kevin Earlywine for Eoghan's chapter.
