The number one best-selling western novel from Randall Dale

This is the first book in a brand new Western series from award-winning author Randall Dale. Ride with United States Marshal Branson Hawk!

This series opens with an attempt on Marshal Hawk's life by an unknown gunman, along with a mysterious telegram from Wichita, written to the would-be killer, and a second telegram with the name of Hawk's sworn enemy, Deputy James Cartwell, on it as another target for assassination.

Wichita holds memories for both of the targets of the "hit," and even though they hate each other, they reluctantly join forces to hunt down the person who ordered the hit on them.

Their pursuit takes them on many adventures together, occasionally getting sidetracked to chase down bank robbers and murderers such as Blackjack Parmeter. The result is that their dislike for each other turns into reluctant respect, along with some surprising Wichita connections to their past lives and families.

book was quite goodread. it's about two cowboys going through state of Arizona towards Kansas City and back to then to Wichita. The adventures and their crime fighting skills were able to take care of the bad guys.

I enjoyed this book. There is a good story line and it keeps you interested. But I couldn't get over the fact that He's a United States Marshall and starting out he let the sheriff lock him up. He has the authority to lock the sheriff up not the other way around. I wish he would use his badge and the authority it has. May be in the next book he will. It's a good book though. Typically predictable western - good guys always win, etc. The story line was overly corny - even for a western. And finally, and the worst part, was the narration! The voice accents were horrible, .asking every character sound more stupid than the last.

Predictable, corny, horrible narration

The book was read with AI which lent itself to not having voice inflection and bad grammar. I am assuming the bad grammar and broken story line came from being AI generated as well.

AI destroys the story.
