This audiobook was so freaking good! I can't get over how amazing it was and how the authors brought this story to life! Huge shout out to Jake for his portrayal of Sin, I laughed so hard so many times thanks to it.

Darkmore Penitentiary series is the third of three series set in the Solaria world created by these absolutely amazing co-authors. You definitely don’t need to read the other two series, Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac & Zodiac Academy, but I highly recommend both of them.

In this book we see Rosa, who is one of the Alpha’s of the Oscura clan, get thrown into Darkmore for a job. She has to break someone out but nobody has ever escaped this notorious prison before. What can possibly go wrong?

There is so much going on in this book between the alpha of the rival gang being too sexy to resist, the lion shifter Rosa has been in love with since 14, the sinful incubus who might be a bit psycho & the correction officer who can’t stay away and se definitely doesn’t want him to.

I love this book just like the others in this world. This one has twists and turns & and ending that will leave you needing book 2 ASAP! Definitely a series to check out!

fantastic character voices

smooth transitions and a current story line that allows for deeper character connections. just when you think you know what's going to happen, BAM they pull the rug out from under you. And I mean c'mon, Sin is yummy!

Well written shifter series

My absolute favorite character—and the one who had me laughing nonstop—was Sin. His unhinged, psychopathic mindset is somehow both hilarious and incredibly witty. He completely steals the show.

I also really enjoyed the female main character. She’s strong, powerful, and compelling, though the internal dialogue about how much the characters care for each other can feel a bit repetitive at times. Still, it adds depth to their relationships and makes each interaction something to look forward to.

The plot is a blast: a high-stakes escape from an underground, supposedly impenetrable prison. Watching how each piece of the plan comes together is half the fun.

Overall, it’s an entertaining read with great character dynamics, sharp humor, and a storyline that keeps you hooked. I’m excited to continue the rest of the series!
