What happens when the sweetest employee learns her boss's evil secrets? This opposites-attract ice queen romance asks: Can a villain truly be redeemed?

CEO Michelle Hastings has foolishly promoted a kind, clueless activist to her full-time staff. Now, on top of fighting her inconvenient feelings, Michelle must hide the evil they do.

Eden Lawless relishes her new job, the hot boss who gives her butterflies, and her eccentric workmates who tell weird jokes about their day. Blackmail? Hacking? Doxing? Hilarious! But what if it's not a joke? Would that mean Eden has to fight the boss she's falling for?

Contains mature themes.

Where do I even start?? This is absolutely the best book EVER. It has wonderfully flawed and human characters that you just ache for, root for, and fall in love with. Especially Michelle, all her trauma and pain, with Eden always at her side helping her come to the light side. The storytelling is masterful by Lee Winter and I literally could not put this down. There’s mystery, suspense, love, steamy steamy love too, and sweet sweet justice. I loved seeing Catherine and Michelle patch their relationship, and a great Easter egg about Natalia from Requiem. And the side characters, omg I LOVE O’Brian and Softa, they really added so much dimension to the story,

And Eden and Michelle’s love story is just so amazing. They overcame hardships to love each other as they deserve. I really appreciate how they talked openly with each other. It helps to see two mature women talking things out and coming to an understanding instead of causing unnecessary misunderstandings and drama.

And of course, ANGELA DAWE. Bow to the queen!! Her narration is what brings everything to life. I would give her 100 stars if it were possible. I literally will only listen when she narrates, just absolute amazing!

The BEST!

Seeing as how this is a two parter it's easy to say if you like the first half you'll like the second.

Very fun way to pass time.

I adore this author and narrator but be prepared that this an engaging story but it's EXTREMELY slow burn. loved it because of the dynamic story telling and the realistic reactions to events. 10 out of 10 totally recommend!

SLOW burn but worth the wait!

Loved the content, romantic vibes, and giving Michele humanity. Narrator’s voice was on point, which kept me waiting for the next character. Not enough Hana.

Keeping secrets !

Really enjoyed listening to this book. Probably one of the best sapphic romance I’ve heard, and I’ve listened to so many. Finding any book with great writing and great narration seems rare, and to find this in lesbian fiction can be even more challenging. This book covers it all. If you’re looking for a book that has an actual interesting storyline with sapphic romance, this is it. If you want the super slow burn, read The Fixer first. I don’t think it is required, but it definitely provides all the details of the backstory of the two main characters. Again, I’m I don’t think it’s necessary but I imagine it helps to get really invested in the characters and increases anticipation. I’m going to miss these characters and would love if Ms. Winters would write another follow up with these characters or even others in the story.

GREAT WRITING & NARRATION!
