Ice meets fire in this opposites-attract lesbian romance, as layered, sassy, and smart as its characters.

Over one long night at a bar in Las Vegas, two powerful hotel executives meet, flirt, and challenge each other - having no clue they’re rivals after the same dream deal.

Brilliant ice queen Amelia Duxton is a hotel vice president who thrives on control, truth, and efficiency. She’s in no mood for love or the mess it brings. All she wants is to buy the coveted Mayfair Palace - a massive deal that could finally help her land the CEO job in her family’s hotel empire.

Fiery Kai Fisher is charming and chaotic and renowned for closing ambitious deals. Her sights are set on snatching the Mayfair Palace out from under the nose of her hated arch rivals, the Duxton family.

But when secrets emerge and everything starts to fall apart, how can either of the warring women win - especially when they’ve just met their match?

I read this on kindle and found it to be one of the best dialogue driven books I've read in the genre.
The story unfolds primarily on the words of the characters. For this reason, the audio version comes alive with the voice of this exceptional narrator. Angela Dawe brings the book to life with an impressive range of voices. A truly incredible experience.

You know an audiobook is great when you've already read and are familiar with the story, but the experience feels so new and wonderful that you make yourself slow down to savor every moment.
And once it's over, it leaves your heart feeling full and appreciative and you want absolutely everyone to experience it. That's how I feel about this book.
Lee Winter writes ice queens like no other and when someone as talented as narrator Angela Dawe puts her unique spin on Winter's brilliantly spun characters, magic happens. Dawe's voices for Amelia Duxton and Kai Fisher made me weak in the knees, especially Amelia's low and throaty one. I greatly anticipated hearing the Prohibition Bar scene where the two characters initially meet and it blew away my already high expectations. There are also some beautifully vulnerable moments between the two characters and it was such a welcome relief to hear them communicate in such a healthy way. There are also strong secondary characters in the two assistants and minor characters that were handled with equal aplomb. There's a reason she's earned the moniker "The Legendary Angela Dawe" and this work is a wonderful showcase for her talents.
Winter's Breaking Character and The Brutal Truth are two of my all-time favorite audiobooks, also narrated by Dawe, and this one will join those at the top of the list. The MCs are intelligent, inspiring and have a strong moral compass, the story is entertaining and made me smile throughout, the sex is toe-curlingly hot and the ending is oh-so satisfying.
For those unfamiliar with the Lee Winter/Angela Dawe writing/narrator combination, or if you're not sure audiobooks are for you, these are good ones to get your feet wet on. I used to be one of those in the, "I-like-the-feel-of-a-book-in-my-hands-and-I'm-not-going-to-listen-to-them-on-audio" camp. Boy was I missing out. I've since become nearly addicted to them. And the reality is, Dawe's work spoils you for most other narrators, with very few exceptions. And by exceptions, I mean Abby Craden. This was a more than five star listen for me and if you can, I recommend you put this at the top of your queue.

Winter and Dawe continue their brilliant streak!

I was not sure how interesting the story would be when I first listened to the preview, but I am so glad that I took a chance based on other listeners review.

The plot and character developments are incredible! I found myself sitting still to binge listen. I could visualize the story as if it were a movie.

Although I tried to ration out my listening hours so I could savor it, I finally got to a point where I just had to hear the next chapter until I was finally done with the story.

The narrator’s change of voice to fit the character enhanced the listening experience making it three dimensional.

What an excellent story!!!

Totally Captivating Story!

This book was a great read. I loved the attention to detail and the ending was better than the beginning. I can't wait to add Lee Winter to my favorites list.

Never a dull moment

Loved It! So well written thank you Lee. Then to hook up again with Angela, you two together. Write more so she can narrate them. The banter between the main characters was so well done. Moving into my top 10 audibles
