Frank Sheed’s, which I read a mere fifty years ago, still shows no signs of dating. It captures Augustine’s extraordinary combination of precise statement and poetic evocation as does no other. Excellent translation without losing original meaning and emphasis

Flawless narration and the translation is superb. I can’t believe there aren’t more reviews, because this book/version is truly a treasure. Highly enjoyed it.
