Why does the powerfully built, golden-haired Lord St. Evert dress like an overdone dandy? His outlandish wardrobe belies the hard unyielding lines of his face. Whoever he is, he's ruining Elizabeth Hampton's desperate scheme to secure a rich husband. Terribly vexing, to arrive at the most fashionable breakfast party of the season wearing a perfectly stunning Chinese silk gown, only to discover that Lord St. Evert is clad in unmentionables cut from identical cloth.

Humiliating. And insufferable! Why the devil must he show up in fabrics Elizabeth searched so diligently to procure? To say nothing of the long hours she spent secretly stitching her creations together. He must be stopped. She is determined to spy out his perplexing game and put an end to his interference.

Lord St. Evert despises pretension of any kind. He cannot abide the self-important airs put on by some members of the ton and takes pleasure in making a mockery of Brummell's fashion strictures. Conceited frauds! Hadn't his grandfather's snobbery made his mother's life a misery? All the more maddening to discover that the one woman who captures his interest is the biggest pretender of all. He vows to teach Miss Elizabeth Hampton a lesson she won't soon forget.

Contains mature themes.

For being in the Escape package, these were fine entertainment for an ending or two each. Toward the end of this one, the h's internal thoughts became a little tedious and repetitive, almost used as padding. I'm not a fan of lengthy internal thoughts anyway. They are an easy way for writers to tell the story but not creative or interesting. All in all, this was good story, and I love the fabric matching. I'll probably read another if one is forthcoming,

This third was better than the second

Aunt Honore is a little...wackier... here than in the previous books, but the story is still entertaining with a sufficiently swoony hero. Passionate kisses but clean - no sex or graphic petting descriptions. The narrator does a pretty good job with the voices. I've really enjoyed this Georgette Heyer-flavored series.

The eccentric Aunt Honore continues matchmaking

I love the aunt! This was a delightful listen! The narrator was great! I was glad to find a story that's a little steamy but not nasty!

So funny
