An unusual heroine, Fiona Hawthorn grew up running free. Without a mother to restrain her, she spent her days riding her horse across her father's fields, or swimming like a sea nymph in the upper meadow lake. Trouble is, inside a prim and proper Regency sitting room Fiona is bound to overturn the teapot or accidentally trip the footman. Her notorious Aunt Honore decides to take the hoyden in hand, but amidst the strictures of the beau monde, Fiona is a fish out of water.

When she was younger, Lord Wesmont was her hero. Sadly, he came home from fighting Napoleon a hardened man. Nothing can breathe life back into his cold heart - nothing except, perhaps, the love of an unusual young woman who regularly turns his life upside-down.

Contains mature themes.

Not sure why the steam rating is so far off, but this is not a soft porn story. There are some passionate moments but just kissing. I hope audible fixes it - I hate that their ratings aren't consistent or reliable.

The aunt in this book is a true eccentric - that's why it's kind of funny but also kiind of bizarre at times. The relationship between the hero and heroine is cute with swoony moments, I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next in the series.

Sweet and amusing

I started listening to the book and the narrator was so bad I ended up just reading the book. Her voice for the Earl sounded like a boy going through puberty. And, all the female voices tended to sound the same. It was an hour of pure torture before I turned off the audio and just read the book.

Excellent narration to a story with laugh out loud moments as well as OMGs. For those of us who have more accidents than most others, we can identify with Fiona. We also recognize that not all accidents are our fault.

Very well written Regency romance.

Fairly good plot, good character. Good writing. Terrible cover. I almost did't buy it , because the cover said the author did no research or didn't care. The research was well done. The Aunt at times over the top but had redeeming qualities. This is an R rating due to conversation mostly.

I liked everything about it. All the characters were well formed for the readers, as if you could just see them. The story moved along at a good pace, not veering off into unnecessary drawn out descriptions. 5 stars!!

Darling story!
