This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
I always thought I’d give anything to escape my tedious day to day existence. Now I’m transported to a dangerous and magical realm full of monsters and demons.

One moment I’m in a compromising encounter in downtown Seattle, the next I’m dumped in a swamp called Calamity Hollow. The locals call it the ‘ass end of Hell’. For me it’s the beginning of the Dark Path – the only route out of this nightmare realm.

Haunted by hags, zombies, and vampires, my companions are a gorgeous succubus and a cursed woman slowly turning into a toad. To survive, and save both them and myself, I’ll have to become a cultivator to drive back the darkness that threatens everyone and everything.

Dark Path Crusaders is a Haremlit Cultivation Dark Fantasy with Gamelit elements.

virtual voice was flat without any intonation, and unable to mimic common conversation. it would pause in unusual places.

The virtual voice was not very good. I've heard much better.

I just wanna start with what I dislike. I’m not cool with virtual voice. There are so many folks that would love to read this audiobook with their actual voice. And there’s several times when the virtual voice puts the ‘wrong emphasis on the wrong syllable’ if you get the reference.

Slightly spicy without being gross about it. Easy to skip past if you’re not in the mood.

Overall, it was an enjoyable book.

I enjoyed the adventure and will continue

The ai narrator fucking sucks, like there are ai voice bots that sound indistinguishable from the real thing, but audible dropped the ball with this one, the narrator sounds like a slightly updated version of Stephen hawkings’ computer. There are missing words and/or letters and where there should be some enunciation and its the same monotone voice. The story kinda makes up for it but the narrator really gotta be replaced. The tiktok ai voices are orders of magnitude better than this POS.

The story isn't that captivating, I don't really care about the characters. I wasn't motivated to see them progress or succeed. Mostly I just kept calling the MC an idiot. Mix in the computer narration (Audible), which was just terrible, and I didn't even finish the book.

Very mediocre

I just made a new policy for myself.

If no live human could be bothered to record it, it is not worth listening to.

AI voice has progressed but it is not there for this venue. Not even a little bit.

That doesn't even touch the ethics of using AI instead of a human. Fortunately, this is so awful, the ethics are the least problematic part of the virtual voice.
That should say something. I hope it does.

Virtually Disappointing
