Osho describes what the internal self looks like and he begins by defining the false self. The self you show to the world, with its big smiles and pretensions of being happy, this is where the ego resides and is only skin deep. This is very thin, it's only skin deep and yet this is the layer most people identify with. If someone is insulted or angered the layer underneath the superficial ego arises, this is the emotional body and this is closer to the real you but typically this self is hidden and only arises when provoked. You are not you ego, nor your emotional body: underneath these two is the observer, the real you. This entire Osho talk is all about that real self and recognizing the conditioning that created the other two pseudo selfs that are merely creations. Given that most people identify with the ego and emotional bodies and think this is who they really are this discussion will be beneficial to anyone who wishes to listen to it.

This was all about the real self: the observer.
