An abandoned house, an abundance of dogs. And a dead body or two.

Sheridan Hendley’s volunteer position at Pets and Paws takes a new turn when more than 20 malnourished dogs are found at a run-down house on the outskirts of town. When the body of an elderly woman is found amid mountains of clutter in the house, a search of the property leads to startling revelations. And another body.

While Herman Stoneham’s death is deemed natural causes, his wife’s is not. Where did all the dogs come from, and who’s responsible for Justine’s untimely death? Are the two connected? With dogs and murder at stake, Sheridan can't help but get involved in the investigation. If you love dogs and mysteries, this one is for you.

A Sheridan Hendley Mystery series continues with this second book in the series. Things moved along as Sheridan was drawn into the case of suspicious deaths, and more dogs than any shelter could possibly handle!

I enjoyed how Christa Nardi pulled together all the different plot lines in the story. My attention was captured until the very end.

Jeanne Pilgrim Mayo did a lovely job with the narration. She’s a perfect fit for the characters.

“Dogs and More Dogs, Another Murder” sure sums up this second in the Sheridan Hendley mystery series bu Christa Nardi. The story was very good with twists and turns. The characters were realistic and likable, except those who weren’t. The solution to the mystery wasn’t apparent until the end. The narration by Jeanne Pilgrim Mayo was very good. She created unique voices, accents and inflections for each character and it was easy to tell them apart. I look forward to the next book in the series!

Wish I could say that the personality of Jacob and his sister, Helen were pure fiction, but that would be a big fat lie. Lots of interesting characters, a convoluted plot full of dogs and delinquents, and a really great read!
Narrator Jeanne Pilgrim Mayo is excellent at making the differences in characters clear as well as adding more reality to the story itself.

Well done!

Sheridan Hendley has her hands full when and elderly woman dies under mysterious circumstances. Paws and Pets is overrun with starving, homeless doggies! Adding to the intrigue, it seems that more than one person stood to benefit from Justine Stoneham’s demise. Dogs and More Dogs, Another Murder is a thoroughly enjoyable, and completely engaging mystery. Well written with beautifully developed characters, this story really held my interest. I was especially taken by the backstories of the characters Luke and Lacey. I found Luke’s story inspirational, and Lacey’s story intriguing. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know more about her, and as the story played out, I was not disappointed! The length, at just over four hours, was perfect to finish in over the course of a lazy evening, and the narration that gave this story life made listening a pleasure! This the first story I listened to by Christa Nardi, but it will not be the last! I loved it!

A Thoroughly Enjoyable and Engaging Mystery!
