Entertaining cozy mystery

Both the author Christa Nardi and narrator Alyssa Baumann are new to me and I am surprised I have not come across this author, in particular before. I enjoy cozy mysteries and Murder At Cold Creek College was an entertaining story that ticked the boxes for me.

Alyssa Baumann did a great job bringing the cast of characters to life for me and certainly added to my listening pleasure. This was a book filled with a number of unexpected situations and although I guessed the guilty parties, it was an entertaining journey.

The characters were engaging, perhaps because Sheridan is a mature woman in her forties and I found her easy to relate to. There were twists, turns and surprises in Murder At Cold Creek College as Sheridan and Brett follow the clues.

I cannot wait to listen to more books from this author.

This story was so greatly planned out and a fantastic mystery. It was good to listen to how it all began with Sheridan and Brett!

Enjoyable

After a few other mysteries that were just awful, this one was enjoyable. I liked the writing and enjoyed the narrator. And I liked that the killer and the motive were unknown til almost the end

Very Good First Book in Series

I liked that the main female character Sheridan was over 40, educated and did not prioritize finding a husband. Her profession as a psychologist gave her a higher understanding of human behavior, helpful when trying to determine who was the killer. When she met and started dating a VA state police detective, their relationship seemed natural but not the focus of the book. My only WTF moment came after Sheridan experienced vandalism and a violent attack but still decided she did not need protection. Smart women know that being cautious is not cowardly but prudent.

Great book

I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend. Just when I thought I knew who the killer was, there was a twist to make me rethink it.
