"Funny & wonderful & human. It gets the Stephanie Plum seal of approval." (Janet Evanovich)

Davis Way thinks she's hit the jackpot when she lands a job as the fifth wheel on an elite security team at the fabulous Bellissimo Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. But once there, she runs straight into her ex-ex-husband, a rigged slot machine, her evil twin, and a trail of dead bodies. Davis learns the truth, and it does not set her free - in fact, it lands her in the pokey.

Buried under a mistaken identity, her hot streak runs cold until her landlord, Bradley Cole, steps in. Make that her landlord, lawyer, and love interest. With his help, Davis must win this high-stakes game before her luck runs out.

My new favorite series. Not only is the story hilarious, the narrator is excellent, will definitely be listening to the rest of the series.

Great, funny story

It was OK, but the narrator may have added to some of the confusion. I enjoyed the voice but it was difficult to figure out sometimes if we were in the past or present. I also think there were some bad edits especially late in the book. Good story but I can't decide if I will listen to the next one.

Not sure

(As posted in GoodReads)
I'm in the middle of reading a classic (Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky), a well-known book (Watership Down) and a horror book (Doctor Sleep by Stephen King). They are all on hold because, although I really have a great desire to read them and them getting a good experience (well, Watership Down has come into question because, it REALLY appears to be more of a children's story and less gripping), I needed something that was just FUN for a while! Davis Way Crime Capers to the rescue! Cozy mysteries, in general, when their well done provide mentally and emotionally light atmosphere which I required, and Davis Way fit perfectly!
_Double Whammy_had me laughing and, although I was concerned about individual characters and situations, I can truly say that I really enjoyed the breathing room and the cast of people with which I was provided! And although it was "lighthearted", it was NOT obvious. I didn't come off thinking "well I just wasted some time!" Instead, I thought "what a delightful way to address, "questionable" circumstances and conditions." And the good people were good, the evil people were evil, and the unknowns were definitely mixed!

Totally enjoyable cozy mystery

I really liked everything about this book. Not too graphic on murders, which is good. Not heavy on love scenes (a plus for me at well). Just a good cozy mystery. And I hadn't figured out "whodunnit" in advance so that was also good. Very well written. I wasn't sure if I liked the narration, but I do find that sometimes I have to stick with it to get used to the narrator. And, yes, I ended up liking this narrator very much, and I am happy now that she is the voice of Davis Way (and she's not a narrator on any other books I listen to; so, I like that). I definitely recommend! I'm looking forward to getting all of these Davis Way Crime Caper books.

Really like this one

This book is engaging from the onset. The writing has lots of dry funny one liners. The story is easy to follow and keeps you interested.
