Confusing

I didn’t like how it rapidly switched back and forth between timelines without even a pause. Sometimes I would have to backtrack 15 seconds to see who the author was talking about but it was a good story.

Can’t wait for the next book!

Every book I’ve listened to by J.R Erickson is awesome. This book is no different! The Dear Celeste Series is by far my favorite. I would recommend you make a list of her books and start reading or listening. You won’t be disappointed. Great job narrating by Robyn Maryke.

When does the cost of discovery outweigh the benefit?

Dread the Night, by JR Erickson, is a chilling tale that will leave you with a haunted feeling well after you finish reading it. As part of the Dear Celeste collection, I assure you this is the best book I've read from that amazing set. Celeste sets out for her childhood home in West Virginia, not really sure what she is looking for. Before she is done, she has far more answers than she ever expected. In some cases, more questions and answers than she ever wanted.

As per this author's style, the storyline is fast-paced and well-written, filled with questions about her past, unexpected answers, ghosts, betrayal, subterfuge, determination and grit. There's so much more that you just need to read to experience it. The characters are all well-developed and engaging. Celeste is so real to me at this point, that I feel as if I'm riding in her truck along side her, ready for the next leg of her adventure.

Overall, Dread the Night is well worth reading. I highly recommend it and anything else from JR Erickson!

Love this series

Great storyline, love the narrator, love this author!! Celestes’ story in all 3 Dear Celeste, captivating, an excellent . Definitely highly recommended.
