The Carrow Haunt

Remy is a tour guide for the notoriously haunted Carrow House. The old place is a haunt for the superstitious, but Remy hasn't seen any proof of the paranormal yet. So when she's asked to host guests for a week-long stay in order to research Carrow's phenomena, she hopes to finally experience some of the sightings that made the house famous.

At first, it's everything they hoped for. Then a storm moves in, cutting off their contact with the outside world, and things quickly take a sinister turn. Doors open on their own. Séances go disastrously wrong. Their spirit medium wanders through the house at night, seemingly in a trance. But it isn't until one of the guests dies under strange circumstances that Remy is forced to consider the possibility that the ghost of the house's original ownera twisted serial killerstill walks the halls.

And by then it's too late to escape…

I enjoyed everything about this book. The writing, the characters, and the reader. I am looking forward to hearing more books from this author!

Great read. The story keeps you guessing. Great choice for narrator. Coates books always has good people. I have read 5 of her books and this was the best. I enjoyed it.

Thought it sounded generic but I was wrong

This was my second book by Darcy Coates and I can say with confidence that it will not be my last. Her writing is very unsettling, but has an underlying tone of hopefulness that balances the horror well. It’s rare that I like all of the characters in an ensemble, but I truly did. I am both satisfied by the ending and almost sad that I’m done, which is the mark of a good book for me.

Great Haunted House Story, one minor technical issue

This was a great spooky story to read during Halloween season, it gives very much “Rose Red” vibes! The only issue is that Chapter 36 & Chapter 37 are switch in here, I thought I was going crazy until I went to my physical copy to double check!

fantastic story! I believe there is a mistake on the recording where chapter 36, 37, and 38 do not play in order.
