Are you driven to distraction at work?

Bestselling author Edward M. Hallowell, MD, the world's leading expert on ADD and ADHD, has set his sights on a new goal: helping people feel more in control and productive at work.

You know the feeling: you can't focus; you feel increasingly overwhelmed by a mix of nonstop demands and technology that seems to be moving at the speed of light; and you're frustrated just trying to get everything done well--and on time. Not only is this taking a toll on performance, it's impacting your sense of well-being outside the office. It's time to reclaim control.

Dr. Hallowell now identifies the underlying reasons why people lose their ability to focus at work. He explains why commonly offered solutions like "learn to manage your time better" or "make a to-do list" don't work because they ignore the deeper issues that are the true causes of mental distraction. Based on his years of helping clients develop constructive ways to deal with distraction, Dr. Hallowell provides a set of practical and reliable techniques to show how to sustain a productive mental state.

While I anticipated this book to be focused on helping persons with ADHD to focus at work, it was primarily focused on helping everyone with distractions, deadlines, and feeling overwhelmed at work. While I came away with some strategies which were useful, there was minimal information for helping the ADD/ADHDer at work. The author did clarify the differences between what ADD/ADHD looks like at work versus someone else who is struggling with toxic worry.
Highlights included: how to turn toxic worry into problem solving, how to stop fixing everyone's problems but your own, how to stop underachieving at work, creating the optimal state for excellence, and harnessing the power of structure.

Excellent!!! This book helped me do Incredible book! It identified traits and habits I have and categorized them under ADHD, then gave me ways to manage them. I will definitely listen to this book at least one more time! Be prepared with tools to take notes on resources! A must read for someone with ADHD, even if you don’t have the condition, or not sure if you have it!
Thank you to the author for sharing this wisdom, a game changer for me.
