With no alternative, and determined to find their way home, the strangers accept the summons and travel to the forbidding manor of the mysterious count. But all is not well at Castle Ravenloft. To survive the twisted enigmas of Strahd and his haunted home, the adventurers must confront the dark secrets in their own hearts and find a way to shift from strangers to comrades—before the mists of Barovia claim them forever.

Good setting and ambience, but story was hurried and characters just ok.

The setting and descriptions of Barovia and the domains of dread were fantastically creepy. The depictions of Castle Ravenloft were excellent and scary. The characters were not great, but just ok. The length of the book didn’t lead to a lot of character development and you get a brief glimpse of back story for each character of their worst moments, but not enough to make you feel much for them. The detour to the domain of dread hurt the book with the limited page count. The story feels hurried, especially the ending. This book would’ve been better with 100 more pages.

Interesting story

I bought this book as I love curse of strahd. the story is a bit scatterbrained due to the multiple viewpoints but a solid story.

Good narration with multiple domains

The narration was very good and I also liked how the book expanded outside of Barovia.

fantastic cast of characters

Delilah Dawson is one of my favorite authors for media tie ins. she rights villains spectacularly. no one in this book is a "good" person but they are all fantastic characters.

Fun characters

I wish we had more time with them exploring the mist (woods). I need the next book immediately!!!
