Gaia has awakened, and the world will never be the same again.

The first three books in the Ether Collapse series!

Rockland Barkclay has had a rough year. On top of everything else, his father has just passed, and Rocky has to go it alone on their annual trip. But his plans for drinking alone in Algonquin Park are rudely interrupted by a sea of cosmic energy that governs the universe. Ether, the driving force of creation, has returned. Now a confused Rocky must navigate odd hovering messages to survive.

With the awakening of the very planet they reside on, humans are in a desperate fight to survive in an evolving world. If only Gaia hadn’t woken up so very… very… unhinged.

I found the book very frustrating. Somehow it keeps my attention even though I don't like any of the characters. it's like the book knows how to get my hopes up, but never follows through so that I'm always ultimately disappointed only to get set up again with another bait.

Frustrating

It's decent.

the "cursing" using random milk toast words in their place is jarring for intended serious bits of the story.

the stories flow isn't exactly "bad" just very meh. probably be decent if you want background noise to ignore half a book and not really miss a whole lot.

Very meh.

Overall the concept of the book and different enough to be a good story . My issues with the book is the character never levels up and just defeats enemies with bombs instead of any of his skills . Not sure why these stories the mc is just too nice of a guy and just let randoms just walk all over them . Derick just disrespects their first encounter even after letting him live in his safe zone and constantly tries to undermine him . His guide is just trash and doesn’t know anything except how to fight and she doesn’t even guide him in that . Mc doesn’t ask for help after meeting the other territory holder from a different planet like info or money . Plus so many people just keep dying .

Dropped at the third book
