You can run, pretty girl. You can hide in another state, under another name. But not forever. Not from me.
Everyone knows her as Gloria Walton, the reigning queen of Willow Heights Prep Academy. But I knew the real girl, before she gave up everything for the throne.
Her beauty tempted me. Her wildness seduced me. Her leaving broke me. Now it’s time to repay the favor. I will take the crown from her head and show the world it’s a fake, just like her.
I’m the real thing.
The king of your nightmares has found you, pretty girl. Ready or not, here I come....

The narration was great and I'm glad I listened to this one on Audible because it gave the story that extra something.
I like Colt a lot, and the more I see of him the more I feel this way. I really liked seeing more of Gloria's point of view and I feel like it was an eyes wide open thing. Rylan is awful. I was happy we didn't get as much of a direct view of Dixie this time because the more we hear from her the more I dislike her. I don't think she loves Colt at all, it more about her agenda.
As to story, I do agree with another reviewer who mentioned the different angle of the same story from the Exile books is a bit disappointing because it would be nice to get into something new. But I think what wins out for me is just diving into the character motivations because they are like a psychological puzzle. You can't look away but you can't figure out why!
